I {heart} New York.

Times Square... love the energy here.
Kate's Paperie. I could have stayed... for hours.
Bryan, my husband, at the NY Stock Exchange on Wall Street... about as happy as I was in Kate's Paperie :)
At home getting ready to leave for our 6am flight. Thank goodness for the Crown Room and strong coffee.

NYC was absolutely, positively, amazingly fabulous. Marvelous. Glorious. Seriously, I had the BEST time. My husband Bryan and I got to see everything we wanted, including a heart fluttering experience on Wall Street (I thought Bryan might jump for joy when we got there). We ate some (ok, a lot of) really great food - had a few margaritas over Mexican (our fave) at our new favorite restaurant ever - Rosa Mexicano. We went shopping on Fifth. Saw the Statue of Liberty. Rode the subway (ew). Walked through Central Park. It was... just wonderful.

A highlight of our trip was a visit to Kate's Paperie. Wonderful paper and envelopes... creativity galore.

On our last full day in NYC, I walked down to a Starbucks on Park Ave by myself (while Bryan napped in our room - lots of walking!) I took a few sheets of paper and a pen and let all of my goodpaper ideas flow with the energy of the big city. Needless to say, I ran out of room. I am so excited to the core about goodpaper and cannot wait to share all of it with you all soon.

NYC bound!

Emily Ley Paper will be closed until Wednesday, July 29. We're off to New York City to enjoy 5 days in Manhattan to celebrate our (early) 1 year Wedding Anniversary. Cheers!

Woah Woah Woah Maroon Five

My husband and I might be the biggest Frank Sinatra fans ever. I'm not sure how I feel about this... I think I love it.

Things to come. . .

A sneak peak at goodpaper. . .

Bookplates

.

My adorably pregnant friend, Julie, just came to me with an idea for bookplates as baby shower hostess gifts. HOW adorable is that gift! Her hostesses are members of a book club and these stickers will differentiate whose book is whose! This may be the newest edition to the goodpaper line!

NYC HERE WE COME!

.
Ok... well in exactly two weeks, my husband and I will be celebrating our (early) one year wedding anniversary in NYC! Our wedding anniversary actually isn't until October 18, but 4th quarter is extremely busy for both of us - so we thought we'd celebrate a little early!

I'm so excited. We have plans for broadway, Central Park, some amazing stationery stores that a few friends have suggested, Times Square, Wall Street (just for Bryan!) etc! Bryan and I have never been, so if you have any recommendations, let us know!

Who knows, we may love it and never come back!

a goodpaper wishlist

.
My wishlist for goodpaper seems to be growing and growing and growing. For that I’m thankful my business is still growing and expanding. I can’t honestly believe how far ELP has come in six short months. It’s funny to look back and what I though was my “style” in the very beginning and the way it’s evolved and grown. I feel like my head is now full of so many random nuggets of info on paper weight, textures, printing styles, font resources (and fonts for that matter), graphics sites, marketing ideas and new products I’d love to test out.

One day…

The Nikon D40, for product photography

.
A MacBook Air so that I can take my show on the road and connect remotely to my studio computer
An iPhone (August!!) so that I can blog, tweet, facebook and email my little heart out!

Personal Stationery

.

I'm really excited about branching out more into personal stationery. I was contacted by Jim and Melissa from James Cook Photography to do some professional stationery. This is printed on heavy, textured Luxe Fino White with matching envelopes.

A Sneak Peak

.

I've been hard at work on goodpaper. The trademark application's been submitted... I've created TONS of new design ideas today... I've been plugging away getting ELP into Quickbooks so I can make the name change and start fresh in December.... I've talked with the state to find out about all the legal changes I'll need to make... WHEW!

I'm exhausted! :)

I'm just overjoyed about goodpaper. The look and feel will be very different than ELP and, if you ask me, a tad different than all the other wedding/personal stationery online boutiques out there. The brand is really strong and I can't wait to roll it out. I'm hoping to have a few Christmas items/Christmas cards in the shop when it launches also! But for now... here is a sneak peak at some personal stationery. This isnt on the ELP site but can be purchased now in my ETSY shop.

Changes are a'comin!

.

I am beyond excited/totally and completely thrilled to announce that Emily Ley Paper will be closing up shop in December...
... all that to say...
